I. Introduction:
The Department of AH & Vety. came into limelight after establishment of AH & Veterinary service in the West Siang, the Govt. has considered the proposal to upgrade the erstwhile Vety. Dispensary into District, Animal Husbandry & Vetrinary office which is located at the right bank of Sipu River that is hardly 300 mtr. away (approximately).
Since then the District aH & Veterinary officer has been triving hard to intensify the aH & Veterinary activities more effectively in the District. In order to meet up the demand of meat and other livesstock product required in Aalo Township in particular and Dist. as whole the Dept. has established one District Poultary Farm at District Hq. , Aalo and establishing one Pig Breeding Farm at circle Hq. Jomlo which is approximatey 11 Km away from Aalo Town.
The West Siang District is having the following Livestock Population as per 18th Qiomqiemmial Livestock census 2007
